My Story

Hello, I am Nicola and I work for H.A.D (Havering Association for People with Disabilities) and after completing a few 5k park runs have somehow decided that I can take part in The Big Half Marathon in London on September 7th 2025.

The chalenge is a massive (and slightly frightening) one but I am taking part because I want to make a difference to the people that we support every day at H.A.D.

Each week we support around around 60 individuals with physical or learning disabilities who access the service to enjoy social activities and obtain the support that they need to help them live a more connected life.  Many of our clients see H.A.D as a lifeline - a place where they feel safe, seen and supported.

The big ask comes now - our current Local Authority funding will run out in January 2026 so we need to to fundraise even more to ensure that we can continue to support the people who need us.  Please be assured that every penny raised goes stright back into the services we provide so, if you are able to sponsor me, any donations received make a real difference.
