My Story

Hi, I'm Cheryl, the Manager of H.A.D (Havering Association for People with Disabilities). This year I'm stepping way out of my comfort zone to run/walk The Big Half Marathon, in London on September 7th 2025

I'm not a runner (at all) so this is a huge personal challenge.  But I'm doing it because I care deeply about the amazing people we support at H.A.D.

Every week we have around 60 individuals with physical or learning disabilties accessing our services.  We offer them social activities and support to help them live fuller more connected lives.  For many H.A.D is a lifeline, a place to feel safe, seen and supported.

But here's the tough part; our current Local Authority funding runs out in January 2026.  That means every penny we raise now is essential to keep our services going strong.

So, I'm asking for your help.  Please sponsor me - every donation, big or small, makes a real difference.

Let's show that community spirit is alive and well, and together we can keep H.A.D running - just like I will be doing (slowy) in The Big Half!
